Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
At KidSkip, the privacy of your family is our top priority. This policy explains how our browser extension handles your data.
1. Personal Data Collection
KidSkip does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal or browsing data.
All data processing takes place locally on your own device. We do not maintain any external servers to store your browsing history or extension settings.
2. Local Storage and Security
The settings you configure (such as your safe list of approved videos and your PIN) are saved locally within your browser's secure storage area (Chrome Extension Storage).
- Your parent PIN is hashed locally on your device using the SHA-256 algorithm before it is saved.
- It is never transmitted over the Internet. No one but you can access it.
3. Cookies and Trackers
Our promotional website and the KidSkip extension do not use tracking cookies or intrusive third-party analytics tools.
4. User Rights
Since all of your data is stored exclusively in your local browser, you have complete control over it. You can clear all of your KidSkip configurations and data at any time by simply uninstalling the extension from your Chrome browser.
5. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Changes will be posted on this page.
